Namesake

J.B. Passmore Elementary, named after devoted Principal J.B. Passmore, opened its doors to the community in 1970. Passmore began his career as a teacher and later became a highly respected Principal in Northside Independent School District in the late 1950s. When Lackland City Elementary School first opened in 1957, Mr. Passmore accepted the role as its first Principal thru 1966. While one-on-one communication is the best, in a District as large as Northside ISD it is sometimes difficult. Because we want our parents to stay informed, NISD has several ways that parents and other interested citizens can stay informed about the successes and challenges of San Antonio’s premier school district, as well as news about their children’s schools.

More than 5,000 students still need updated immunizations before the start of the school year. Northside ISD is enforcing its “No Shots, No School” policy, which means students who are not up-to-date on immunizations will not be allowed to attend classes when the 2014-15 school year begins on Aug. 25.
