Academic WorldQuest is a flagship program of the world affairs council system. Teams compete by answering rounds of questions that test students' knowledge of current affairs, world leaders, geography, recent history, flags, international organizations, countries, regions, the world economy, culture, religion, and more.
Texas Academic Decathlon winners
Three NISD schools competed in the state Academic Decathlon: Holmes, 9th place; O'Connor, 14th place; and Warren, 33rd place.
Academic Decathlon is a program that provides high school students across the U.S. an opportunity to experience the challenges of rigorous academic competition through participation in team activities. Students are tested in ten categories: Art, Economics, Essay, Interview, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Speech, and Super Quiz. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded for individual and team scores. Winning teams advance through local, regional, and state levels of competition.
