U.S. Congressional Art winners

The U.S. Congressional Art Competition is a national competition offered to high school art students each year. Students enter original and creative artworks based on a theme initiated by the U.S. House of Representatives. Northside had winners in two Congressional Districts this year, the 20th and the 23rd Congressional Districts.

From Clark High School, Luis Segura placed second and Rebecca Armstrong and Alexa Finley both received honorable mentions in the 23rd Congressional Art Competition. For the 20th Congressional District, Monica Sawyer from Marshall HS placed first, and from Warren HS, Sara Swanson placed second and Michelle Madison placed fourth. Teachers are Linda Fleetwood, Marshall High School; Lisa Mittler, Warren High School; and Mark Peavy, Clark High School.
