Siemens Award for AP for Excellence in Math and Science

Lingyi Zhang, a senior at O'Connor High School, is the 2007-08 recipient of the Siemens Award for Advanced Placement for Excellence in Math and Science. She was selected for this award based on her exceptional performance on the AP exams in math and science and will receive a $2,000 college scholarship. One male and one female student in all 50 states are awarded this scholarship, which means Lingyi is the Texas female recipient. She accomplished this by scoring 5 (a perfect score) on her Biology, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Physics C: Mechanics, and Statistics AP exams.
