"We are the citizens' connection to the schools and are accountable to the taxpayers for what goes on in the classrooms and with their school taxes. It is important that 'good' people sit on boards and give of their time and talents with this goal in mind. In many instances, we are also the public image of the District and that image needs to be a positive one. This enables our community to have confidence in our decision-making ability and thus gain their support. The greatest challenge we face as Northside Trustees is managing the growth and providing the classrooms needed by this very large, fast growing, and very ethnically, socio-economically, and geographically diverse school system."
