Like school districts across Texas and the United States, Northside ISD is the recipient education funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
This web site shows taxpayers and community members a detailed spending plan so that they can see how that money is being used in Northside ISD. 1
To date, NISD has received about $29 million in stimulus funding that can be spent only in two areas. Title I funding must be used at schools that are classified as Title I, which means a majority of students enrolled meet the federal requirements for free or reduced lunch. Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) funding is earmarked for special education students.
In addition, the District has received $369,604 in Title II Part D funding which can be used to enhance education through the use of technology.

Once the budget is open, you can click any dollar amount outlined in blue to see how much money has been spent to date and what the money purchased.
Northside ISD established a Stimulus Funding Task Force to develop a plan for the most effective use of the federal stimulus funding.
